Petr Šlosar se ve svých pracích inspiruje nejobyčejnějšími věcmi. Třeba starými kamny, vraty – na jedny vizuálně podnětné narazil například na cestě po Maroku, kterou podnikl ještě za studií na pražské Akademii výtvarných umění. Již na AVU začal vytvářet objekty asamblážového charakteru. Iniciačním prvkem k jejich realizaci může být starý artefakt, také ale specifická struktura, chuť zabývat se konkrétní kompozicí. Celý proces jejich vytváření je pro autora ale hlavně vždy dobrodružství, mnohdy s prvky tajemství – „jako když jde člověk lesem a z mlhy se vynořují tvary…“ (PŠ). Šlosarovu pozornost poutají silně také například staré opuštěné továrny, jejichž dříve funkční prvky pohlcuje čas, k nerozpoznatelnosti. Fascinují jej struktury různých stádií krakeláží, rezivění, vzniku přirozených patin. Vždy jej zajímalo klasické sochařství, samotné jeho základní principy prostoru a plasticity – vztahy tvarů, objemové vzájemnosti. Také sochařské pojetí draperie, to hlavně v kameni, nebo obecně drobné monumenty. Dlouhodobě se věnuje i grafickým technikám – především kvůli subtilním momentům, které nelze zrealizovat v prostorových objektech. Jeho pozornost poutá již jen samotné zrcadlové obrácení obrazu. Zajímá jej Egypt, Chetité, klínové písmo. Zásadní jsou pro něho také například práce Vladimíra Boudníka. V asamblážových objektech-vitrínách některé části vytváří, některé přejímá z běžné reality. Nikdy neví, co bude výsledkem. Jsou to specifické celky prvků přicházejících z různých míst a dob. Zprávy o hmotě a bezčasí.
PETR ŠLOSAR (nar. 1977 v Olomouci) studoval v letech 1995–1999 na Střední uměleckoprůmyslové škole sochařské a kamenické v Hořicích a v letech 1999–2006 na Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze (Socha 2, Jindřich Zeithamml). V roce 1998 absolvoval stáže pod záštitou UNESCO – Štrasburk (Francie), Jelenia Góra (Polsko), Görlitz (Německo), Zubrnice. V roce 2001 se zúčastnil sochařského sympozia Flur v Markneukirchen v Německu. V letech 2004–2008 vyučoval na Střední uměleckoprůmyslové škole sochařské a kamenické v Hořicích.

In his work, Petr Šlosar draws inspiration from the most mundane things: including, for example, an old stove or a gate – he came across a visually stimulating one e.g. on his travel to Morocco he made while still studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He began creating assemblage-like objects already during his studies as well. The initiation element for their execution can be an old artifact but also a specific structure and the willingness to study a specific composition. Yet for the artist, the whole process of their creation is mainly an adventure which often includes mystery – “like when man walks through a forest and there are shapes emerging from the mist…” (PŠ). Šlosar is also strongly attracted to old abandoned factories of which the once functional elements have been consumed by time to the point of being unrecognisable. He is fascinated by the structures of various stages of cracklings, rusting and the appearance of natural patinas. He has always been interested in classical sculpture and its very basic principles of space and plasticity – the relationships between shapes and volume reciprocities. And also the sculptural view of draperies, mainly those in stone, or tiny monuments in general. In the long term, he also dedicates himself to various figurative art techniques – mainly because of the subtle moments that cannot be carried out within spatial objects. His attention is drawn solely by the mirror image itself. He is interested in Egypt, the Hittites, cuneiform writing. It is also the work by Vladimír Boudník which is fundamental to him, among others. In his assemblage objects-showcases, he creates some parts himself, while adopting others from everyday life. He never knows what the result will be. These are specific wholes of elements coming from different places and times. Reports on matter and timelessness.
PETR ŠLOSAR (born 1977 in Olomouc) studied at the School of Stonecutting and Sculpture in Hořice between 1995–1999 and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague between 1999–2006 (Sculpture 2 atelier by Jindřich Zeithamml). In 1998, he completed study visits under the auspices of UNESCO in Strasbourg (France), Jelenia Góra (Poland), Görlitz (Germany) and Zubrnice (Czech Rep.). In 2001, he participated in the FLUR Sculpture Symposium in Markneukirchen, Germany. Between 2004–2008, he taught at the School of Stonecutting and Sculpture in Hořice.
